  •         Ellen Gilchrist

The author of several novels, including “The Writing Life,” poems, stories and essays, Gilchrist has been recognized by the National Book Award for Fiction. She can be seen Thursday, Oct. 24, 7:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m. in Poindexter Hall on the campus of MUW.

 

  •        Steve Barthelme

Barthelme, the acclaimed author of several short stories and essays can be seen Friday, Oct. 25, 1:30 p.m.-4:15 p.m. in Poindexter Hall on the campus of MUW. Some of his work, “The Early Posthumous Work” and “Hush Hush,” has been widely accredited across the country. 

 

  •      Mitchell L.H. Douglas     

Douglas is the author of several collections of cultural poems such as “\blak\ \al-fə bet\, the winner of 2011 Lexi Rudnitsky/Editor’s Choice Award. He can be seen Friday, Oct. 25, 9:00 a.m.-Noon in Poindexter Hall on the campus of MUW.

 

  •         Stephen Fuller

 Fuller, an associate professor of English at Middle Georgia State College, is the author of  “Eudora Welty and Surrealism.” He can be seen Saturday, Oct. 26, 9:00 a.m.-Noon in Poindexter Hall on the campus of MUW. 

 

  •          Holly Goddard Jones

The author of “The Next Time You See Me,” Jones is an assistant professor of English at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She was a 2007 recipient of a Rona Jaffe Foundation Writers’ Award and a 2013 recipient of the Hillsdale Award for Fiction. She can be seen Friday, Oct. 25, 9:00 a.m –Noon in Poindexter Hall on the campus of MUW.

 

  •         Cary Holladay

 Holladay is the author of “Horse People: Stories and The Dear in the Mirror: Stories and   a Novella.” She teaches creative writing at the University of Memphis. She is the author of seven volumes of fiction. She can be seen Saturday, Oct. 26, 9:00 a.m. – Noon in Poindexter Hall on the campus of MUW.

 

  •          Steve Yates

Yates’ collections of work such as “Some Kinds of Love: Stories and “Morkan’s Quarry” have been well received across the nation. He has won several awards including two fellowships from the Mississippi Arts Commission and one from the Arkansas Arts Council. He can be seen Saturday, Oct. 26, 9:00 a.m. – Noon in Poindexter Hall on the campus of MUW.

 

  •         Stephanie Powell Watts

The author of “We Are Taking Only What We Need,” Watts is an assistant professor of English at Lehigh University. She covers themes of Southern values in his works. She can be seen Friday, Oct. 25, 9:00 a.m.–Noon in Poindexter Hall on the campus of MUW.

 

  •          Adam Vines

Vines teaches at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. His collection of Poetry is “The Coal Life.” He can be seen Friday, Oct. 25, 9:00 a.m. – Noon in Poindexter Hall on the campus of MUW.

 

  •          Michael Farris Smith

The MUW professor and author of “Rivers,” has been acclaimed throughout the South. He has been awarded the Mississippi Arts Commission Literary Arts Fellowship, and his short fiction has been nominated by the Pushcart Prize twice. His work has also appeared in The New York Times. He can be seen in Poindexter Hall on Friday, Oct. 25, 1:30 – 4:15 p.m. on the campus of MUW.

 

  •          Elizabeth Hughey

Hughey, the author of “Sunday Houses the Sunday House” and “Guest Host,” teaches creative writing at the Spencer Honors House at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. She is a founder of the Desert Island Supply Co., a writing program for kids. She can be seen Saturday, Oct. 26, 9:00 a.m. – Noon in Poindexter Hall on the campus of MUW.

 

  •         L. Lamar Wilson        

Wilson is the author of “Sacrilegion.” He is pursuing a doctorate in African American and multiethnic American poetics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He can be seen Friday, Oct. 25, 1:30 p.m. – 4:15 p.m. in Poindexter Hall.
