The Blacklist Alumnae Association held its first-ever Rattle ‘Dem Bones Fun Run’ and ‘Walk for Be The Match’ on Oct. 29, on Mississippi University for Women’s campus.

This event allowed the participants to dress up in their own Halloween costumes, and prizes were awarded by age groups. Prizes for the event were donated by local businesses around Columbus such as gift cards to Sweet Peppers, The Grill, Skatezone and many more.

To go along with the event, BLAA also held a bone marrow drive for the organization Walk for Be The Match. Having this event paired with the Fun Run allowed eligible persons to be added to the National Bone Marrow Registry for free. During the event, 26 people were added to the registry.

The event was a success, as the BLAA raised and donated more than $2,700 for Be The Match. The Blacklist Alumnae Association looks forward to making this an annual event and to keep it growing from year to year.

The BLAA said it would like to thank the MUW Alumni Association, the MUW Recreation Center staff and volunteers, MUW police, current MUW students and everyone who participated in the Fun Run, Donor Drive and costume contest.
