The Department of Health and Kinesiology hosted an Alcohol Awareness Week on campus March 11-13.
The week consisted of different activities that helped raised awareness on how alcohol could jeopardize and affect an individual. The activities that were hosted are as followed:
Tuesday, March 11
Pledge signing in Hogarth Lobby from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Wednesday, March 12
Guest speaker in Pohl Gym room 203 from 2– 3 p.m.
Thursday, March 13
“The Realities of Alcohol” skit performed at the Gazebo at 1 p.m.
The purpose for this Alcohol Awareness Week was to motivate behavior change, reset unrealistic expectations about the effects of alcohol, link choices about drinking to academic and personal success and help students practice healthier and safer decision-making, according to the Department of Health and Kinesiology.
People who participated wore red and orange that week to support the cause.
