Now that London Fashion Week is finally over, we now have Milan Fashion Week to recap. Everyone was excited about London’s big fashion week, but Milan tops them all.
Milan Fashion Week finished its last show on Sept. 23, and as the fashion teams pack up and head to Paris to kick off the fourth round of Fashion Week, there’s no time like now to round up the 15 best runway looks from Milan Fashion Week.
This year there were several noteworthy trends on the catwalks to keep in mind as people begin to fill their closets with warm weather staples for the next year. Skin is in.
There was no shying away from skin on the catwalk where models were showcasing big, bright and bold colors and showing a tad bit more skin than usual. A more reserved but equally visible version of the theme carried forward at Jil Sander where classic, earthy color blocks ruled the runway.
Skin was definitely the thing, but it was still tasteful and appealing to a broad audience.
“Having grown up in a respected well-known family in the South, I was taught to always cover up and to never show as much skin as possible. I do feel however that the models were still classy and the outfits weren’t over-revealing at all,” said Halie Savage.
Skin is in for next summer, but don’t take it too far. Always remember to be open to new ideas with fashion. While someone may think something is too revealing and extra, that attire may actually become the next trend to sweep across the nation.
