The W Leadership program will be hosting a Murder Mystery at the Puckett House at 5 p.m. on Feb. 13.

The program is the brainchild of the director of Student Life, Jessica Harpole, and Kelsey Bowman, a W Leadership intern, who wanted to follow up their success with the haunted house the W Leadership program produced for Halloween.

“We really enjoyed doing the haunted house last semester. So we tried think of something like that. Something that would incorporate everyone. We thought of the game Clue, where everyone would have a chance to develop,” said Bowman.

The program will feature a part for every participant who comes out and will feature several fun parts and prizes.

“At the end of the night, everyone gets to guess who committed the murder. Even the main cast doesn’t know who committed the murder. At the end of the night there will be an award for whoever gets it right,” said Bowman.

There will also be awards for best dressed, who got the most mystery money (a form of game currency given to get players to keep secrets and not tell other players what they know) and a reward for who played the best part.

“So if they played the butler or the pool boy and they played the best part, then they’ll win a prize,” said Bowman.

Bowman was very tight lipped as to what the specifics of event were, offering only that the opening of the event would be a funeral and so at there will be at least one body. The main cast were just as tight lipped, but brimming with excitement.

“I get to play the guy’s sister [the dead guy] who’s been living off his wealth,” said Justine Hayes, a member of the W Leadership Council.

She confirmed that though she would have more details than the other players, she doesn’t know who committed the murder.

“I don’t like to know everything I’m doing. I don’t know if I live, I don’t know if I die,” said Hayes.

The W Leadership council consists of 12 members, including Hayes, and they’ll all be participating as main cast members

“We have a lot of great characters, and I’m really excited,” said Hayes.

When asked if there would be more than one death, Hayes admitted she doesn’t know.

“Only the one who knows is Kelsey,” said Hayes.

The mystery surrounding the W Leadership’s Murder Mystery seems thick. The only way to find out who the culprit is, is to play the game.
