So far this season the Owls baseball team is off to a 3-9 start with the hope to improve this record as the season goes on.  In spite of some rough team outings, there are several standout players on the squad.  Landon Clark has been an impressive two-way player for the Owls this season with a WHIP of 1.39 from the mound and a batting average of .419 from the plate.  Clark deserves a lot of credit for putting together an impressive individual season up to this point. Clark gained the status of Owl of the Week on March 10.

Baron Brack and Johnny Setchfield have both gone yard one time each for the Owls this season. The Owls also have a spectacular relief pitcher this season in Ethan Leblanc who has gone 7.2 innings in three appearances with a 1.17 ERA and three strikeouts to go along with it.

The Owls’ season will continue into May, with their next game being against Fontbonne University in St. Louis, Missouri, on Saturday, March 22, at 1 p.m. The team’s complete schedule can be found at https://owlsathletics.com/sports/baseball/schedule/2025.

Owls Athletics has only had one golf match this spring from our gold program where both the women’s team and men’s team competed.  The men’s team finished in a tie for 3rd at the Pinecrest Invitational while the women’s team finished 5th.  There is a host of excellent golfers down here in Columbus and they deserve a lot of credit for the hard work it takes to become a great golfer.

At the Pinecrest Invitational the men’s top performer was Zach Riley, who sported a 219 for the three-round event and finished in 11th place.  The top golfer for the Lady Owls that day was Ashley Estabrook, who picked up a top-10 finish in 9th place while shooting an impressive 169 for her 36-hole stint at Pinecrest.  Both Estabrook and Riley were named the SLIAC’s Golf Players of the Week for March 10-16.

There are just three matches left for the men’s golf team this season two of which will be played in Edinburgh, Indiana, and the other in Conyers, Georgia. The women’s golf team has its last match the weekend of April 12-13 and will be in Edinburgh, Indiana, playing against Spalding University.
